SAN BRUNO, CALIF. – The University of Portland landed 16 student-athletes on the 2009 West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic teams and another 13 Pilots were recognized with Honorable Mentions, the league announced Tuesday. UP athletes represent a third of all honorees recognized on the all-academic teams, which features the finest examples of the consummate scholar-athlete. The women’s soccer and women’s cross country teams had the greatest number of Pilots while UP had at least one in each fall sport.
