WICHITA, Kan. --- The Portland Pilots continue the 2010 volleyball season by traveling to the Shocker Classic in Wichita, Kan., where they play three games in two days. The Pilots play a pair of 10 a.m. matches against Stephen F. Austin (Friday and Saturday) before finishing the tournament with a Saturday night match against the host Wichita State Shockers at 5 p.m. Portland has never faced Stephen F. Austin and this will be the first match-up with the Shockers since 1996 and the first time the two teams will meet on a non-neutral court.

Four Portland Pilots notched a dozen or more kills but the Pilots rally in the fifth and final set fell just short against the Sacramento State Hornets Saturday evening at Gill Coliseum in the Corvallis Invitational. Junior outside hitter Kati Hronek posted a career and game-high 17 kills while sophomore outside hitter Ariel Usher recorded her third consecutive double-digit kills match with 16.
