Well, last week we FINALLY had a home match! We played Trinity Western, a Canadian team, and although we were all really excited about it, Christina, McKenzie, Monica, and I did not get to perform the Canadian national anthem to begin the match. It was nice playing at home, but it was short lived because we left just a few days later to travel to California to play St. Mary’s and San Diego. But we are back on campus again, and will play at home both Thursday and Saturday. This means that this will be the first week that the volleyball girls will be in attendance of their Thursday and Friday classes!
Another first I forgot to tell all of you about was Monica’s first trip to the library. Monica, Madi, and Kate all decided to go to the library a week or so ago to get some studying in. They walked into the silent building filled with determined students, sat down at one of the tables on the main floor and started unpacking their bags. Monica pulled out her laptop, set it down on the table, and opened it up. Immediately the sound of Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” blasted at full volume from the computer speakers. Everyone in the building turned to look and laugh at what was happening as Monica frantically tried to silence the music. She couldn’t unlock her computer and even closing it didn’t stop the melodies from expanding into every inch of the library. Finally, someone handed her a pair of headphones to silence the song. She has yet to return to the library, but I’m sure she will leave her computer in our room.
Midterms are almost here, which means so is fall break. I have been told that this is the time we are able to get our lives back together and organized, which I am very excited about. But what I am most excited about at the moment is our home games coming up. Santa Clara and San Francisco will be coming to the Chiles Center to play us, and I hope to see a lot of people coming out to watch! This Thursday it 90’s theme night, and we will be having the rubber duck drawing for the trip to Hawaii! Hope to see you there!
Stay Classy Pilot Fans,
Autumn
