Pilot Fans—
The weekend started off rough as we lost to our conference rival Santa Clara 2-1. It was a hard fought game that unfortunately did not end they way we wanted it to. But our team rebounded well on Sunday and beat the University of San Francisco Dons 1-0 on a double overtime goal by Kaila Cameli. After a one win, one loss weekend, we look ahead to next weekend and prepare for a two-win weekend. On Friday we will be playing at 3pm at LMU, and then on Sunday we will take on the conference leader Pepperdine at 1pm.
As some of you may know, last week was our fall break. With the little bit of extra time that we had, a few of us decided to go to the Pumpkin Patch. At the Pumpkin Patch we took a hay ride to the giant pumpkin patch and began our search for what we thought was the perfect pumpkin.
For some people the perfect pumpkin is small, perfectly round, with a great stem; for others, their perfect pumpkin is large, not necessarily round, and it may not even have a stem. However, most people would agree that the pumpkin must be orange, I do not. See if you can spot which pumpkin is mine in this picture:
If you guessed the green one you are correct. After a good 20 minutes of searching, each of us came back with at least one perfect pumpkin.
There is only one way to make a perfect pumpkin even better…carve it (or paint it if that is what you prefer to do). There are multiple benefits to carving pumpkins; your pumpkin looks totally awesome, you get to bake and eat all of the pumpkin seeds, and you get to hear at least one person in the group squeal every time they put their hand in the pumpkin because it is so gross (for us it was Lorielle).
Until next week,
Dees
