The 2012 London Olympics are upon us, and the University of Portland will be represented by four alums who will be participating in the games for their respective countries. Christine Sinclair (Canada/Soccer), Sophie Schmidt (Canada/Soccer) and Derek Mandell (Track/Guam) are each making their second Olympics appearance after competing in Beijing in 2008, while Megan Rapinoe is making her first Olympics appearance for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team.
 
The soccer competition begins on Wednesday, July 25, while the first round of heats in the 800m are set for Monday, August 6.
