Women's ScheduleSEATTLE, Wash. --- It was a record setting meet for the Portland Pilots Track & Field team that competed in the Husky Classic on Friday and Saturday. The distance medley relay team of Lorea Ibarzabal, Hannah Souders, Taryn Rawlings, and Julia Fonk captured a first place finish en route to setting a new program record time of 11:36.66.
In the 800 meter run Ibarzabal continued her strong performance with a first place finish with a time of 2:07.69, while teammate Rawlings' time of 2:13.91 nabbed her second place in her section and 20
th overall. Sanna Mustonen led the way for the Pilots in the 3000 meter with a 7
th place finish and a time of 9:37.08.
On the men's side, Korey Thieleke continued the transition from basketball player to sprinter with a 10
th place finish in the 200 meter with a time of 22.25. Two Pilos, Ryan Poland and Woody Kincaid, competed in the mile nearing the four minute mark with times of 4:01 and 4:02 respectively. In the 3000 meter, Timo Goehler completed the race in 8:15.95 which set him in 13
th of the 51 runner field.
The Portland Pilots will next return to Seattle for the MPSF Championships on Feb. 27-28.
