Women's Schedule/ResultsPORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Portland Indoor Invitational on Thursday at the Nike Run Club House of Track. In the division one competition, the men's team took first place over Oregon State, Portland State, and Seattle University.
In the men's 800m, Gavin Flynn had the fastest division one time of 1:55.20 and placed fifth overall. Nick Haugher, Justin Rocereto, and Cobie Chavez-Killinger went 3-4-5 overall in the mile with times of 4:13.01, 4:17.17, 4:17.71, respectively. The Pilots took seven of the top nine spots overall in the 3,000m with Ben Forsee leading the way with a time of 8:24.72.
On the women's side, Taryn Rawlings took the top overall time in the 800m with her mark of 2:13.30. Grace McConnochie's time of 10:09.14 in the 3,000m was the top mark. Anna Farello had a great race in the mile, taking first place with a PR of 4:51.82. Her time also stands as the 6
th fastest time in Pilot history.
"This was a great beginning for many of our athletes," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "Coach Colwell did a tremendous job putting on the meet and created a great team event. Our student-athletes are making excellent progress as we work towards the MPSF meet."
The Pilots will be back in next weekend at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash.
