Buchanan Set to Race at NCAA Indoor National Championships

PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland Pilots track & field senior Reid Buchanan is set to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on March 11 and 12 in Birmingham, Ala. Buchanan will take to the indoor track for the final time in all purple to race for a National Championship in the 3,000m.
 
"Reid has had a great season so far and we are really excited to see how he does in a head to head competition with the best in the nation," said head coach Rob Conner. "I'm confident he will do his best and give us a great effort."
 
Buchanan grabbed the 16th qualifying spot at the MPSF Conference Championship on Feb. 26. His PR in the race of 7:52.66 earned him third place at the meet, and a spot at nationals.
 
The 3,000m race is scheduled for Saturday, March 12 at 4:10 p.m. (Pacific). There will be live results and the race will be streamed live on ESPN 3.
 
"Reid has been training since October for this," continued Conner. "He set a goal to qualify for nationals and we are really proud of his effort and focus."
