Women's Schedule/ResultsPORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track teams will be in the Bay Area this weekend competing at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
"We always look forward to checking our progress with the best competition in the nation," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "Stanford is the meet you circle every year on the schedule. The objective is running times that will qualify our guys to the first round of the NCAA Championships."
Ten Pilots will be at Stanford on Friday and Saturday taking on some of the best in the country. Distance runners Nick Hauger and Jeff Thies will race in the 5,000m, while Alex Dillard and Timo Goehler will tackle the 10,000m. Nathan DeVaughn will try to leap his way into the record books in the long jump.
On the women's side, Courtney Vacek and Kaylie Van Loo will also compete in field events. Vacek will compete in the triple jump, while Van Loo will look to top her 16th regionally ranked throw of 155' 2" from last weekend.
Maria Montt will be the only sprinter at the event as she will compete in the 200m. Teammates Anna Farello and Lauren LaRocco will look to place in the 10,000.
"Lauren and Anna are both in phenomenal shape," stated women's head coach Ian Solof. "They are excited to race and both are capable of qualifying for the NCAA First Round. They are tough racers and will be ready to compete and fight the whole way."

Two Pilots are scheduled to head north to San Francisco for the San Francisco State Distance Carnival. Logan Orndorf and Nick Doan will hit the track at Cox Stadium in the 1,500m. Live results for the Distance Carnival can be found
