STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific Tigers defeated the Portland Pilots 4-1 in a West Coast Conference women's tennis match Friday afternoon at Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

Portland senior Maja Mladenovic recorded the Pilots point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3 singles over Saenz deBuruaga Ruiz.

Pilot seniors Tori Troesch and Saroop Dhatt were both leading in their respective third sets at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions when the match was clinched.

The Tigers (7-10, 2-5 WCC) recorded the doubles point to start the scoring with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Portland freshmen Radina Dimitrova and Tatiana Grigoryan won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Viktoriya Dzyuba defeated No. 60-ranked Lucia Butkovska 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 1 position. It marked just the third dual singles loss of the spring for Butkovska, while Dzyuba improved to 13-2 overall.

Maayan Sela posted a victory for Pacific at No. 2 singles and then Sabrina Rodriguez clinched the match with a comeback three-set win at No. 4 singles against Grigoryan.

Portland will visit Saint Mary's on Saturday with the match scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
