GOLD RIVER, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team navigate south this weekend for the 2016 West Coast Conference Championships at the CSUS Aquatic Center, which is scheduled for Saturday morning on Lake Natoma.
"We have been putting together all of the pieces mentally and physically," said Portland head coach Pasha Spencer, "and we're excited to see the team's performance."
The event will begin with the second four at 8:40 a.m. and the varsity four race at 9 a.m., which will be followed by the second eight at 9:20 a.m. The day concludes with the first eight at 9:40 a.m.
The Pilots will be looking to build upon their fifth-place finish last year after coming in third at the WCC's the previous two seasons. Then-seniors Kelly Herman and Claire Seibold were both named to the 2015 All-WCC Team, the first conference honor for each.
Gonzaga won the overall title last year, giving the Bulldogs their second WCC crown in three years.
