Buchanan, Kincaid Run the 5,000m at Payton Jordan Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. --- Reid Buchanan and Woody Kincaid of the Portland Pilots men's track & field team were at the prestigious Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford University on Sunday. Both harriers competed in the 5,000m.

Reid Buchanan took second in his heat with a time of 13:48.56. The mark is the fourth fastest time in program history and is currently the 7th fastest time in the west region.

Woody Kincaid placed fourth in the same heat, completing the just over three mile race in 13:51.35. Kincaid's time comes in as the fifth fastest time in school history and 10th fastest time in the west region.

The senior duo has been training together for over a year now with the goal of competing at nationals. Kincaid placed 5th in the 5,000m at the 2015 NCAA National Championship just over a year ago.

The Pilots will next be in action on Friday, May 6 at the Oregon Twilight in Eugene, Ore.
