"It felt like we had a little pause in the race season with final exams, so we were excited to be at Opening Day and in a competitive and festive atmosphere," Portland head coach Pasha Spencer said. "We couldn't have asked for better conditions and competition, and we're looking forward to the WCC's."
More than 800 rowers compete in this prestigious event, which also included Seattle Yacht Club's Opening Day Boat Parade. The 2,000 meter course starts in Union Bay and finishes in the famous Montlake Cut.
