PORTLAND, Ore. --- University of Portland student-athletes had another stellar year in the classroom in 2015-16 with a total of 197 Pilots landing on the Dean's List. Portland also had a total of 15 student-athletes named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team for their respective sports, while 54 student-athletes overall earned league all-academic honors.
 
FALL 2015:
The 2015 fall semester was highlighted by 100 (36.4%) student-athletes earning Dean's List recognition with representation from every team (a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher as a full time enrolled, undergraduate student). Of the 275 student-athletes, 200 earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher after the fall semester. Overall, student-athletes combined to earn a semester GPA of 3.26, and 14 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA in the fall.
 
Five UP student-athletes, Timo Goehler, Lauren LaRocco, Tori Zellerhoff, Connor Johnston and Parkes Kendrick, were selected to the WCC All-Academic team following the fall season. Additionally 21 UP student athletes nabbed WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention, with representation from each of the fall teams, men's and women's Cross Country, men's and women's Soccer and volleyball.
 
SPRING 2016:
The 2016 spring semester was highlighted by 97 (36.1%) student-athletes earning Dean's List recognition (a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher as a full time enrolled, undergraduate student). Of Portland's 269 student-athletes, 195 earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Overall, student-athletes as a whole combined for a cumulative GPA of 3.27, and 22 student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA.
 
The 2016 spring semester was also highlighted by 10 WCC All-Academic Team award winners and the Pilots had 18 all-academic honorable mention selections for a grand total of 28 league honorees overall. Additionally, the UP women's rowing team had impressive 12 rowers named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar Athletes, which is the sixth most in the nation among all NCAA DI schools
 
The 2016 Founder's Day Celebration included 21 student athlete research presentations including topics in environmental science, engineering, civil engineering, mathematics, English, psychology, business, chemistry, and international languages and cultures.
 
Portland's 2015-16 graduating class of student-athletes includes 44 student-athletes (88%) with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and has an overall average cumulative GPA of 3.44.
