SALEM, Ore. --- The Portland Pilot's men's and women's track and field teams finished up their busy weekend today at the Willamette Open in Salem, Ore.
 
Senior Madison Leek placed first over all in the women's 200m and running and outdoor personal record of 25.22. Freshman Grace Bley came in just behind Leek for a second place overall finish in 25.93. Leek then went on later in the day to finish first overall in the 400m in 56.84.
 
In the women's 1500m, Portland claimed the top four spots, headed by freshman Natalie Smith (4:47.03) with sophomores Courtney Cox (4:50.62), Emily Perterson (4:50.80), and Dylan Hite (4:50.80) just behind her.
 
"Our sprint group did a nice job, especially considering the weather," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "Madison Leek continued her great senior year with very promising times and our freshmen impressed me as well."
 
On the men's side senior Danny Martinez and junior Carter Aebi each ran exceptional races, both registering PR's in the 1500 meters in 3:55.69 and 3:56.12, respectively. Martinez and Aebi placed third and fourth over all, with junior Gabriel Haughey finishing just behind them in sixth (4:01.14).
 
"I was impressed with everyone's efforts today, it was very cold and windy," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "Danny and Carter each ran PR's in the 1500 which was extraordinary under the conditions."
