The University of Portland and NBC Sports Northwest, formerly CSN Northwest, extended their partnership last summer to continue a package of live broadcasts as well as expanding 'Portside with the Pilots' from a monthly to a weekly programing schedule. The Portland Sports Network, UP's in-house video department, handles all production elements for the game broadcasts and shows, and 'Portside' will primarily air each Wednesday at 9 p.m. from September through May, with occasional adjustments made due to programming conflicts. The 30-minute program was previously aired on a monthly basis since January 2015.
"NBCSNW has been a great partner with University of Portland athletics," said Jason Brough, Portland's Associate Athletic Director for Public Relations. "The University has also been forward-thinking in recognizing the value of investing in video technology and story-telling. The combination of a willing media partner and progressive administration has allowed the Portland Sports Network to do remarkable things over the last few years. Our video team produces live and creative content on par with the best in the nation and we are happy to be able to showcase the University to a wider audience through that medium."
