University of Portland soccer stars Michelle Enyeart and Sophie Schmidt were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America First Team, while teammates Kelsey Davis and Danielle Foxhoven earned second team honors. The four Portland honorees tied Stanford for the most of any team, while the Pilots were one of only three schools to have two first team honorees.

The Portland Pilots seemed on their way to another NCAA College Cup after an early goal on the road, but the UCLA Bruins used speed, physicality and some lucky bounces to earn a 2-1 comeback victory in an NCAA quarterfinal matchup Saturday night at Drake Stadium. The Bruins (21-2-1) advance to face No. 1 Stanford in the semifinals, while the Pilots (21-2-0) conclude the season with the second most wins in school history.

The No. 2 seeded Portland Pilots (21-1-0) will face first-seeded UCLA (20-2-1) in an NCAA quarterfinal match on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Drake Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. The winner will advance to the Final Four and face the winner of Stanford and Boston College, who play Friday at 7 p.m. in Stanford, Calif.

Kendra Chandhoke and Danielle Foxhoven scored two goals each as the Portland Pilots defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies, 4-1, in an NCAA third round match Friday night before 3,906 fans at Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex. Chandhoke also added two assists as she was part of all four goals on the evening.

The No. 2 seeded Portland Pilots (20-1-0) will host third-seeded Virginia Tech (16-7-0) in an NCAA third round match on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex. Virginia Tech advanced with wins over Murray State (2-0) and Dayton (3-1), while Portland knocked off Denver (4-0) and Washington (2-1).

University of Portland women’s soccer players Jessica Tsao and Danielle Foxhoven have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-All-America Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Tuesday. The duo was the only set of teammates in the nation to earn first team honors.
