PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots baseball program will hold its annual alumni weekend Sept. 18-20. The weekend includes an alumni game, with current players facing a team of former players, a barbeque and a golf tournament.
The weekend begins with an alumni batting practice session on Friday, Sept. 18 at Joe Etzel Field at 5:00 p.m.
The alumni game is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Joe Etzel Field and will be followed by a barbeque, which is open to all players, families, and friends.
The weekend concludes on Sunday with a golf tournament, which is scheduled for a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start at Langdon Farms.
Alumni Weekend is a great time for members of the UP baseball family to reconnect with some of those who have helped build the Pilots baseball program through the years. Historically, many of Portland’s active professional players have taken part in the Alumni Game, making it both competitive and entertaining.
The golf tournament is open to anyone interested, including men and women. Participants can put together their own foursome, or you can be placed in a group if needed. All proceeds benefit the Pilots baseball program.
Any former players interested in playing or anyone interested in the golf tourney is asked to contact UP assistant coach Tucker Brack at 503-943-7732 or by email at brack@up.edu.
