Readers,
Sorry that this is so late, there just has not been enough time in the day to do everything that I need to do. Playing catch up after missing classes for a couple days can become overwhelming sometimes.
Our second tournament was in Worley, Idaho which is about an hour away from Spokane, Washington. The tournament was hosted by Gonzaga University at Circling Raven Golf Club which is located on an Indian reservation.
The tournament was 54 holes, which can be pretty challenging because we play 36 holes the first day, and another 18 the next day. There were 20 teams in the tournament and it included schools like Santa Clara, USF, OSU, PSU, Boise State, and much more so competition was tough.
Overall the tournament went well, the team did not do as good as we wanted to, but Sara our new freshmen played well shooting 73-81-76 and tied for 26th place out of about 100 girls.
After the tournament and the hour drive back into Spokane, we ran into a bunch of the other schools waiting to catch their flights back to school just like us. Among those schools were OSU and PSU. It was an Oregon party (minus OSU’s rivals UO).
Now back in Portland, we had a nice week of school and a break from traveling. It was much needed since we had two tournaments in a row. Traveling is always a lot of fun, but missing classes is the worst and best part. We all hate the catch up work and it is really important to try to maintain a balance between everything that we do.
Next week we will be staying in Portland and attending PSU/OSU’s combined tournament. It will be nice not to have to pack or travel and just go play golf in our home state.
