PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland senior forward Micaela Capelle, who scored seven goals during the opening month of the season, is the U.S. Bank University of Portland Student-Athlete of the Month for September. A native of Gresham, Ore., Capelle finished the month strong by scoring six goals during Portland's last four matches.

Capelle is currently tied for the league-high in assists with three and she ranks second in the WCC in both goals and points (17).

She scored two goals against both Missouri and Washington to help the Pilots close the month on a five-game winning streak. One of her goals against the Tigers was the game-winner.

The Pilots are ranked 10th in the nation in the most recent NSCAA poll and they enter conference play with a league-best 8-1-1 overall record. Portland is in Stockton, Calif., this Saturday for a 7 p.m. match against first-year WCC member Pacific.
