Full Chicago Marathon ResultsCHICAGO, Ill. --- Portland Pilots women's cross country alumni Allison Maxson (Ritchie) has qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials in the marathon. Maxson completed the Chicago Marathon this past weekend with a time of 2:39:16 which is four minutes under the qualifying time of 2:43.

Maxson placed 171
st overall, was the 15
th female to cross the line, and finished eighth in her division with an average mile pace of just over six minutes.

"Allison had an amazing race and I bet she shocked a lot of people with that performance," said women's cross country coach Ian Solof. "I am really proud of her toughness and determination and the fact she has never given up while struggling with injuries. Qualifying for the Trials has been something she has thought about for a long time. It always makes me feel good about our program to watch former athletes continue to excel in running after they leave us."

Maxson came to The Bluff by way of Tacoma, Wash in 2004. After medically redshirting the 2005 season, she went on to receive all-WCC team honors and compete at NCAA West Regional competitions.Â
