Women's Regional Video Recap PORTLAND, Ore. --- University of Portland will hold a watch party for the NCAA Cross Country National Championships on
Saturday, Nov. 22 beginning at 9 a.m. (pacific) in the Hall of Fame room at the Chiles Center.
The championship, which will take place in Terre Haute, Ind., begins with the women's race at
9 a.m. (pacific) followed by the men's race at
10 a.m. (pacific). For the first time since 2007, the University of Portland will be represented in both races.
Senior Tansey Lystad ran her way to an individual qualification with her sixth place finish at the NCAA West Regional last weekend. Eight members of the men's team will be racing for the title after a second place team finish at the NCAA West Regional gave them the automatic bid.
The Pilots enter the meet ranked No. 7 nationally and have finished in the top 14 of the NCAA Championships each of the last seven seasons. Portland finished seventh overall last year, matching the program best which was set in 2001 and matched in 2008.
Portland will honor its cross country teams at the Saturday, Dec. 6 men's basketball game when they take on Oregon State. Men's distance runners will also be in action for the Halftime Mile which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 12 during halftime of the men's basketball game verse Pepperdine.
