PORTLAND, Ore. --- The University of Portland will host a celebration to honor the success of the men's and women's cross country teams at the NCAA National Championship this past weekend. The reception will take place Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Chiles Center Mezzanine and will include speakers from the coaching staff and student athletes.

The 2014 NCAA National Championship marked a record setting year for both the men's and women's programs. The men's team finished 3^rd which marks the best finish in program history and the first time that the University has made it to the podium. Two male Pilots earned All-American honors in Scott Fauble who finished 13^th and Reid Buchanan who crossed the line in 26^th.

On the women's side, Tansey Lystad placed 15^th overall which is the highest finish by a Portland women's cross country runner in program history. Lystad also received All-American honors and is the first Pilot to do so since 1994.
