Women's 2015 SchedulePORTLAND, Ore. --- The outdoor season will be in full swing for the Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams this and next weekend. First up will be the Willamette Invitational on Saturday, March 28 in Salem, Ore. then the Pilots will head to Palo Alto, Calif. to compete at the Stanford Invitational the following Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4.
The men's team heads into this weekend's meet ranked 42
nd in the nation as announced by the USTFCCA on Tuesday. Portland is the second highest ranked WCC school in the poll with BYU sitting at 27
th.
"The team's training from top to bottom has been unprecedented in school history," said men's head coach Rob Conner. "We have a great group that is working hard and is more focused than ever. Everyone is looking forward to the big meet opportunities that are right around the corner."
Willamette Invitational:Meet ScheduleStanford Invitational:Meet Information All-Americans Scott Fauble and Tansey Lystad will help lead the Pilots as they compete outside for the first time in the 2015 track and field season. Lystad will be joined by teammate Brenna Symoniak in the steeplechase and Timo Goehler will run with Fauble in the 10,000 meter. Ryan Poland (5000 meter), Woody Kincaid (5000 meter), and David Perry (1500 meter) will round out the men's distance competitors. In sprints, Korey Thieleke will look to continue his success in the 400 meter while adding the 200 to his repertoire.
In addition to the pair of women competing in the steeplechase, Julia Fonk will compete in the 1500 meter and Sanna Mustonen will run in the 10,000 meter. Two Pilots will make appearances in the field events as Kaylie Van Loo will throw the javelin and Katherine Maus will look to continue her record setting year in the triple jump.
