INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Portland Pilots senior Cassandra Brown is the 2015 State Farm Three-Point Champion after out-shooting the entire field at Butler's historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on Thursday night. Brown defeated Dayton's Andrea Hoover in the women's final before conquering Gonzaga's Kevin Pangos, who was the men's champion.
Â
Brown, who ranked seventh in the nation this year in three-point accuracy, moved out of the first round by finishing in the top four of the original eight shooters. She then advanced past the semi-finals to face Hoover in the title round, and the native of Vernon, B.C., came through with a clutch performance to claim the hardware.
Â
Pangos, also a native of Canada, easily cruised through the men's competition to set up the All-West Coast Conference, All-Canadian Championship. Pangos shot first and put up a seemingly insurmountable 20 points, but Brown stayed calm and claimed the overall championship with 21 points, which was sealed before her final shot even left her hands.
Brown hit 44.4 percent of her three's this season, shooting 75 of 169 overall from beyond the three-point arc. Her 75 three-pointers are the second most in a single season in Portland women's basketball history. For her career, Brown finishes third all-time at UP with 180 career three-pointers and is fourth with a .393 career three-point percentage.
Â
Brown also amassed 1,396 career points, which is seventh most all-time for the Pilots.

The annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships is in its 27th year of existence and the competition was show live nationally on ESPN.
