UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2009: Stellar first season on The Bluff as staff’s No. 1 pitcher … landed on the WCC All-Freshman Team … in 11 starts and 15 appearances, went 4-6 with a 4.00 ERA … had one complete game … struck out 31 and walked just 14 in team-high 83.1 innings, which ranked seventh in the WCC … held lefties to a .241 average … in fourth start of collegiate career, went the distance for a 4-2 win at Fresno State; allowed just five hits against the Bulldogs, struck out five and walked just one … lasted eight innings of a no-decision at LMU on Apr. 5; surrendered two runs on three hits as the Pilots would go on to defeat the Lions 7-3 in 11 innings … allowed four runs in 7.1 innings to pick up 12-4 win at #28 San Diego on Apr. 24.
WEST LINN HS: Four-year letterwinner for coach Mike Lord … six-time first team All-Three Rivers League selection, earning the distinction as a pitcher (2005, 2007, 2008) three times and once each as an infielder (2008), an outfielder (2005) and a utility player (2006) … he was also named the 2008 TRL Pitcher of the Year and earned all-league second team honors as an infielder in 2007 … as a senior, he earned all-state and all-region honors as an infielder … he was named second team all-state as a pitcher in 2007, was named to the all-state first team as a utility player in 2006 and earned all-state honorable mention as a freshman in 2005 … also earned all-area code as a junior … helped the Lions win four straight league crowns, advancing to the state playoffs all four years … West Linn advance to the state semifinals in 2006 and 2007 after finishing second in the state in 2005 … during his senior year, he hit .536 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI’s … finished his high school career with a .426 batting average, 113 RBI’s and 102 runs … on the hill, he finished with a career record of 25-11, an ERA of 2.07 and 172 strikeouts … during his sophomore year, he hurled a no-hitter, tossed two shutouts and posted a 1.79 earned run average … also earned several all-league honors as a three-year letterwinner in football (running back/linebacker).
