OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: Played with the Oregon ODP in 2003 and 2004 and was a member of the Super Y Northwest Regional Team.
2011: WCC All-Academic Team … made 20 appearances and 16 starts … had one goal and three assists for five points … lone goal was a game-winner … game-winner came in the 87th minute as the Pilots scored twice in the final five minutes to rally past Northwestern (Sept. 9) for a 2-1 win … assists came during wins against Oregon State (Aug. 27), Gonzaga (Oct. 26) and Saint Mary’s (Oct. 28).
2010: Made 13 starts and 17 appearances, primarily at the holding midfield spot … attempted 16 shots, with seven coming on-goal … named to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District 8 First Team … also garnered WCC Winter All-Academic honorable mention.
2009: Started four matches and appeared in 15 as a midfielder … scored one goal … attempted 11 shots, six of which were on-goal … first collegiate goal came during a 5-1 win against Gonzaga on Oct. 25.
LINCOLN HS: Four-year letterwinner for coach Billy Merck … was named to the Oregon 6A All-State First Team as a senior after garnering second-team all-state honors as a junior … also was named to the All-Portland Interscholastic League First Team in 2007 and 2008 … he earned all-league honorable mention as a sophomore in 2006 … team MVP in 2009 and was team captain in 2009 and 2008 … helped the Cardinals reach in the state playoffs in 2006, 2007 and 2008 … he led the team in assists as a senior and led the squad in post-season goals during the Cardinals’ three playoff visits … Class Valedictorian … was awarded a 2008 Dartmouth Alumni Book Award.
CLUB: A member of FC Portland since 2002 … as a team captain, he helped lead his club team to a 2006 State Cup Championship … participated in the United States Soccer Development Academy (2007-09) … placed third at nationals in 2010 after winning both state and regionals with Westside Metro Internationals; team went undefeated at both state and regionals; Sleven scored both goals as the team won the regional final 2-1.
