MALIBU, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots scored a run in the ninth and had the game-tying run on second base when the Pepperdine Waves recorded the final out to hold on to a 2-1 win in a West Coast Conference baseball game Friday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium.

The Pilots return to WCC action this weekend with a three-game series against the Pepperdine Waves in Malibu, Calif. The Pilots and Waves are set to play at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and at 1:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Friday’s series opener is scheduled to be broadcast live nationally on ESPNU.

CORVALLIS, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots brought the tying run to the plate with no outs in the final inning, but Oregon State held on for a 4-1 win on Wednesday afternoon at Goss Stadium. The game was the continuation of a postponed game from earlier this season.

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Washington Huskies belted four home runs en route to a 9-2 win over the Portland Pilots in a non-conference baseball game on Tuesday afternoon at Joe Etzel Field. Sophomore 3B Clayton Shaw and junior 1B Cort Carpenter each knocked in a run for Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. --- Five Portland pitchers combined to hold the Concordia Cavaliers scoreless as the Pilots picked up a 4-0 non-conference win on Monday afternoon at a sun-splashed Joe Etzel Field. UP starter Mark Triolo allowed two hits and struck out three in 3.0 innings of work to pick up the win.
