4/30/2008 PORTLAND, Ore. --- Nakeisha Brown and Kristina Koonce, who both hail from Houston, Texas, have committed to the University of Portland women’s basketball program, announced head coach Jim Sollars. Brown (Houston, Texas/Alief Elsik HS) and Koonce (Houston, Texas/Ross Shaw Sterling HS) have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Pilots next fall.

4/21/2008 CLEVELAND, Ohio --- Portland Pilots senior center Rachel Warren was one of 24 student-athletes named to the sixth annual Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Teams. Warren was also named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSida Academic All-District VIII second team and the West Coast Conference Winter All-Academic team this season.

3/19/2008 PORTLAND, Ore. --- A wing from Arizona and a point guard from Washington have committed to the University of Portland women’s basketball program and will join the Pilots next season, announced head coach Jim Sollars. Alexis Gannis (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) and ReZina TecleMariam (Puyallup, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) have signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball at Portland.

3/6/2008 SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The Portland Pilots fought back from a large second-half deficit to take the lead in the final minutes, but the San Diego Toreros would prevail 61-57 in the first round of the West Coast Conference Tournament at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Friday night. Senior Rachel Warren had a huge night with 16 points and 16 rebounds for Portland, which finishes the season with a 15-15 overall record.
