ENTRY #3: Colleen Olinger
Tuesday, October 4, 2011
Welcome to the official start of the season!
Let me introduce myself: I am Colleen Olinger, but everyone basically calls me Philly. Why you ask? Because I am from the other side of the country from, you guessed it, Philadelphia, PA. I am a freshman guard this year and loving everything that the University of Portland and the West Coast has to offer, including my amazing teammates who you will all be able to get to know throughout the year!
At this time, I would like to give a personal shout out to my mom who reads these posts religiously. She even read every single one of G’s blogs last year before I knew I was coming here!
Individual workouts have ended and yesterday (Oct. 3) marked the start of pre-season – first official practice checked off the list! We were well prepared for what the coaches threw at us at practice due to our always challenging but fun hours in the weight room with Coach Cat and open gyms! Everyone was there and ready to work hard. Miss Pam, Coach Sollars’ wife even came out to support us!
I am very excited to see what our team can do during conference play. I have a feeling it is going to be an awesome year!
Stay tuned for what Z has to say in the next blog. Until then, GO PILOTS!
