Hey Pilot fans, guess what day it is???? HUMP DAYYYYYYY!!!!!!
Â
I have to say the words "GOOAAALLLLL PILOTS" never seem to get old when you're hearing it live at the games or if you're streaming online, they just have such a good ring to them. If you were unable to attend or watch the exhibition match we played last Saturday night against Portland State, I am pleased to inform you that we came out with a solid W with a score of 1-0 thanks to freshman Danica Evans. It was great seeing everyone take the field and being able to finally see the team play in a game situation and it was definitely a great start. With today being hump day, also known as Wednesday, that leaves us only two more days until the 2013 season officially starts. Our team has spent these past nine months preparing for this and we are extremely eager to take that field this Friday night, and we hope you all are just as excited as us!!

When I was sitting on the couch pondering what I would write about this week I looked across the room to see all of my beautiful housemates' faces and it clicked. This week I would share what it is like to live in our house and what our daily lives consist of.
When we aren't at the fields, in the training room or having team functions, our home is where we like to come to relax. The other night we found ourselves watching episode after episode of a show called "Life" that is on Discovery Channel that Oprah Winfrey actually narrates. The show talks about and teaches you about the history of earth and its landmarks, nature and species. Personally my favorite episode was the one on deep-sea animals where we learned about cuttlefish and a jellyfish that was referred to as a giant fried egg.
Speaking of animals, over the past couple months we have had our ant, spider and fly problems around the house, and it is pretty normal that when we find a bug inside we usually just yell for Bekah and she comes to our rescue. Another fun fact about the house is that we have a little baker in our family. Micaela loves to bake, last week we found her making a blackberry pie from scratch, and she even created her own design with the crust on top making hearts all over it. I asked Mic what her favorite thing was to bake and she quoted, "I like baking cookies because I feel like people enjoy those most."
As a house we congregate mostly in our family room but when you can't find us there that means we are probably on one of our night bike rides. Kendall actually wrote briefly about these bike rides last year and I am pleased to state that the tradition still lives. And when I say bike ride, it's not just a short sweet ride either. A couple weeks ago when we were heading out I asked how long the ride would be, I was told about 20 minutes. That night we were gone for more than an hour, but it was an hour well spent.
With country music playing most of the time, candles always burning, fresh (or dead) flowers on the kitchen table I am very happy to be able to call this place home.

Not only does season start this Friday but we are lucky enough to say that school will be starting for us this coming Monday as well. Our lives are going to start getting a little crazy from here but it is the kind of crazy you have to love and appreciate. Let's continue the tradition and make this our 10
th consecutive year of having the most fans and the best fans in the country. So hopefully I will get to see all of your faces in the stands this Friday night as we take on Marquette at 7 p.m. I want that stadium packed and I want it loud because this is the start of season that I don't think we will ever forget!
