ENTRY #4: ReZina TecleMariam

Hey Pilot Fans!
Have no fear, ReZina is here. Where have my four years gone? I can’t believe I am a senior now!! I can still replay my freshman summer and my mom dropping me off in the hot dorms with no air conditioning and no fan. It has gone by fast, but I am ready to get this season started. My full name is ReZina TecleMariam, and yes it has four different capital letters. However, that can be a mouthful to say every time so everyone calls me “Z”.
Since the first official practice we have not looked back. Before one practice our weight training coach told us, “Dress appropriately for the weather tomorrow because we will be outside.” Mind you we train early in the morning so being outside could be cold with rain or shine. It was bright and early that “Friday Fun Day” so the Pilots came prepared alright in our hats and mittens excited to train. After the warm-up, we were ready to strip off all the clothes we came in.
With long practices it is important to take care of your body. That could entail ice baths, foam rolling or stretching. Amber, our athletic trainer, taught us well on how to make ice bags and wrap ourselves on the go. She would be so proud of Nakeisha Brown for putting ice on her knees after an intense practice.
After practice we usually all go get something to eat together. I was able to catch Natalie Day, in her stunning outfit of choice, before she ran off to class to give a presentation. Cassandra Brown said, “You look like Indiana Jones with the backpack and everything.” We still love you Nikki!!!!
A little more than a week away until our first game Nov. 2 (editor’s note: an exhibition game vs. Seattle Pacific at 7 p.m.) and I hope to see you all there. Thanks for reading and until next time GOOOOO PILOTS!
